MY STORY
My mother got her American citizenship when I was in elementary school. Growing up with an immigrant mother and American father meant my life was a bit different than the rest of my classmates. She and my dad instilled Christian values in me from a young age, but as I grew older, I developed a deep skepticism of God.
During this time, I fell in love with capturing moments. It began with Polaroids. Then, I graduated to a Nikon camera. I dived deep into reading books, making art and loving music. I was a full on creative. I excelled in debate and mock trial. When I attended college, my passion for video and speaking naturally brought me to broadcast journalism.
I began my television career the summer after college at a news station in Kentucky. I was a one women band. I scheduled, shot, edited and fronted my stories every evening on live television. It was a very tough job, but it was then Christ really began pull me closer to Him.
As I covered stories and met different people everyday, I realized people were intelligent. And, they were hurting. I gravitated to stories about the homeless and worked with a family to get jobs and housing. I helped a severely abused puppy gather thousands of dollars in funds to be saved.
Christ began to show me more about Himself. The world is chaotic- but there is one constant.
Jesus Christ.
It was that understanding that led me away from secular news and to a Christian television network.
My deepest desire is to live the life Christ intended for me.
